Our Eco Club has been working hard to save the environment! Looking ahead Earth Week is April 23 – 26th, with events planned throughout the week. We are also asking students to challenge themselves to bring in “waste-free” lunches as many days as possible throughout the week. Please check out the Eco Newsletter link below.
April is Autism Awareness Month. Autism is a neurological disorder which affects 1 in 66 children in Canada. World Autism Day is April 2nd. The Grade 7 & 8 students are meeting several times a week to practice challenging math problems. A team of four will be chosen from the group to represent St. Julia at the Y4MA Intermediate Math Olympics held on April 24th at Middlefield Collegiate.
The Budding Scientists will be meeting after school on Wednesdays to experiment making silly putty, explore gravity and use a variety of science tools. It promises to be a great experience for our students involved. Thank you to Mrs. Weldon for providing this opportunity for our students.
Our Eco Club members continue to encourage proper sorting of our recycling and food waste into the proper bins. We will be starting Waste-Free Wednesdays to cut back on food waste and packaging. Students are encouraged to bring a litter-free lunch to school and any waste should be brought home. Please help your child in packing their lunch with reusable containers and cutlery! We will ...
