The Grade 3 students participated in the Lifesaving Society’s “Swim to Survive Program” at Angus Glen Community Centre. Swim to Survive provides training in three essential skills needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep water. The Grade 3 students attended this program on February 19th, 26th and March 5th.
This year’s Speedstacking Competition will be held on Saturday, May 4th, at Bur Oak Secondary School. Students from SK – Grade 8 who were interested will be participating. We look forward to another great event. Thank you to Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Addorisio for providing this opportunity to our students!
Several Grade 7 & 8 students have started preparing for the “Let’s Talk Science Challenge” at York University. “Let’s Talk Science Challenge” is a team-based competitive enrichment event offered for Grade 6 – 8 students by “Let’s Talk Science” outreach volunteers across Canada. The Chess Club has begun. Grade 3 – 8 students will be learning, playing and competing in friendly chess games over the next few weeks. Congratulations to the Junior Girls’ Volleyball Team on a fantastic tournament this year. The girls went undefeated in their very difficult pool of schools. Thank you to Mrs. Curcio, Mrs. Fernandez, Ms. Velocci and Mr. Kelly for coaching. Way to go Jayhawks!
